Group Summary
Build a groups-by-week count matrix for your bunks or cabins, then print or export Excel and open camper rosters.
Compare how many campers sit in each group across the weeks of a season. Group Summary is a count matrix under bunking, with a layout editor, print and Excel export, and click-through camper rosters.
Who can use it
You need all of the following:
- The Bunking Module turned on in Admin → Site Settings → Modules
- The Bunking permission on your role
- The Reports permission on your role (Group Summary also checks report access)
You must map your bunk (or cabin) profile field in Bunk Settings before the matrix can load. If that field is missing, the page asks you to open settings and choose it.
Where to find it
Open Bunking → Group Summary in the left menu. The menu group stays Bunking when you use the default term, or uses your plural term (for example Cabins) when you rename the word in Bunk Settings. The Group Summary item label does not change.
You can also open it from Bunk Reports with the Group Summary button.
Pick the season in the header season selector. The page loads your default season when you arrive without one selected.
What the matrix shows
| Part | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Rows | Groups from your layout (section headers, individual group options, and section totals) |
| Columns | Weeks for the selected season |
| Cells | Camper counts you can click when the count is greater than zero |
| Badges | Special Weeks when week columns come from Special Weeks dates, or Session products when they come from attendance sessions |
How week columns are chosen
- If Special Weeks is set up for the season (week options with start and end dates), those week labels become the columns.
- Otherwise, columns come from active session products in that season that are marked to show on attendance.
If neither source has weeks for the season, the page tells you no Special Weeks or session products are available.
Configure the layout
Before counts appear, build a layout that groups your bunk or cabin options into sections.
- On Group Summary, select Configure layout.
- Select Add section. Name the section (for example Munchkins), optionally add a subtitle, and pick a color.
- Drag options from Available options into a section, or use Move on an option chip.
- Reorder sections with the drag handle. Remove a section when you no longer need it (its options return to Available options).
Layout changes save automatically. Status text under the title shows when a save is pending or finished.
Template vs season override
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Save as template | Stores the default layout used when a season has no override |
| Save for this season | Saves a season-specific layout (needs a season selected) |
| Copy template to this season | Replaces the season override with the template |
Badges show Using template or Season override. With no season selected you can still edit and save the template; season save and copy stay disabled until you pick a season.
Select Back to Group Summary when you are done.
Read counts and open a roster
After a layout and week columns exist:
- Scan the matrix for each group and week.
- Select a non-zero count to open the Camper roster modal for that group and week.
- Close the modal when you are finished reviewing names.
Capacity shading can highlight cells that are at or over capacity when capacities are set in bunk settings.
Print and Excel
When the matrix has rows and weeks, use:
- Print to print the matrix
- Excel to download a spreadsheet of the same counts
Both controls sit in the page header next to Configure layout.
