Tipping

Let parents and visitors leave tips online, then track, pay out, void, or refund those tips with the tip report.

What tipping does

Tipping gives your camp a public page where parents and visitors can leave tips for your staff. Logged-in families tip from their saved payment methods; visitors enter a card or bank account on the page. You control how the page looks and behaves in Tip settings, and you track everything that comes in with the Tip report.

Tipping is an optional module. If it is not turned on for your account, the settings and report pages redirect back to the financial reports.

Tip settings

Open Tip settings to configure the tipping page. The page lives at your camp's tipping URL, shown at the top of the settings.

Tip report

The Tip report lists tips received and lets you manage each one. A summary bar at the top shows the number of tips, the tip total, surcharge collected, total charged, any refunds, and how much has been paid out.

Two views

Every tip collected in the date range, one row per tip, with the tipper, who it was on behalf of, the amounts, and payout status.

Filters

body

Break up byselector

Group the report by a profile field (for example, cabin). When grouped, a Print by button opens a print-ready view with one group per page.

Columns

Each row shows the Date, Tipper, Email, who the tip was on behalf of, the individual tip lines and payout toggles, Season, a Paid out status, and the Tip total, Surcharge, and Total charged amounts. Select Display Columns to add profile fields as extra columns.

Manage tips

  • Record manual tip – log a tip received offline by cash, check, or another method.

  • Paid out toggle – mark each staff member's tip line as paid out; the status badge updates as lines are paid.

  • Void – cancel a charge before it settles, or remove a manually recorded tip.

  • Refund – return all or part of a settled charge to the tipper.

Voids and refunds reduce your collected totals. The summary bar shows refunded and net-collected figures once any refunds exist, so use those when reconciling to deposits.
