Seasons & SessionsProduct Quantities

Product Quantities

Let families buy more than one of the same product—like t-shirts or add-ons—in a single purchase, with optional per-order limits.

What product quantities do

Normally, each product purchase counts as one item. Product quantities let a family buy more than one of the same product in a single step, such as two t-shirts or three add-ons.

This setting is off by default. Products that are naturally one-per-camper, like session registrations, keep working the same way until you turn quantities on for that product.

When to use it

Turn on product quantities for products where "how many?" is a fair question.

Use it for:

  • Merchandise like t-shirts, hats, and water bottles
  • Extra add-ons a family might want more than one of
  • Any item where buying a few at once makes sense

Leave it off for:

  • Session enrollments
  • Other products that are naturally one per camper

Product quantities are off by default. Turning them on for one product does not change any other product.

Turning it on for a product

Open the product in admin

  • Go to the product you want to edit in admin.
  • Open that product's settings.

Check Allow quantities

  • Find Allow quantities.
  • Turn it on for that product.

Set Maximum per order if needed

  • Enter a value in Maximum per order if you want a limit.
  • Leave it at 0 to allow any quantity in a single order.

Save the product

  • Click Save.

The next purchase of that product will allow quantity selection.

Setting a maximum per order

Maximum per order sets the ceiling for how many of that product a family can pick in one order.

Set it to 5 to allow up to five of that item in a single order. Set it to 0, which is the default, to remove the limit for that product.

The minimum is always 1. A quantity cannot be less than one.

What parents see

On the registration cart, a product that allows quantities shows a small Quantity box. The parent enters how many they want, and the price updates to match that number.

If you set a maximum, the parent cannot go above it. During checkout and on the receipt, the item shows the count next to its name, such as T-Shirt x2.

What staff see

When you add a product to a family from their profile, a Quantity field appears for any product that allows quantities. Enter the number you want before saving the purchase.

On the family's list of purchases, the item shows the count next to its name, such as T-Shirt x2. This makes it easy to confirm what the family bought without opening the item.

What shows on invoices and receipts

The product name shows the count, such as T-Shirt x2. The family invoice also includes a clear quantity line such as Qty: 2 @ $15.00, so the per-item price and total are easy to read.

The family's balance always reflects the full amount. The total is the price of one item multiplied by the quantity purchased.

Changing a quantity after purchase

Use the edit link next to the item on the family's list of purchases. From there, you can change the quantity, and the total re-prices automatically using the same per-item price.

You can also enter a custom Amount if you want to set a specific total yourself instead of using the calculated quantity total.

Good to know

  • It's per product. Turning quantities on for one product does not affect any others.
  • The price scales. Two of a $15 item is $30. Nothing else about pricing changes.
  • Food ordering is separate. Food products already let families order a quantity per day and continue to work the same way.
  • Minimum is one. A quantity is always at least 1.
