Retention report
See who returned from a prior season and who did not, compare seasons, add Display Columns, and email or text either list.
The Retention system report lists everyone registered in a prior season, split into who registered again (Retained) and who did not (Lost). You can change which earlier season you compare against, add profile field columns, and email or text the list on screen.
You need the Retention card on the dashboard permission (under the Dashboard permission category; Administrators get it by default). Your camp also needs at least two seasons in retention.
Open the report
- Go to Reports → System Reports.
- Under Enrollment, open Retention.
- Or from the dashboard Retention card drill-in, click Open full report.
The page title is Retention - followed by the current season name.
Description on System Reports: Everyone registered in the previous season, split into who registered again (Retained) and who did not (Lost). You can email or text either list.
Filters and actions
| Control | What it does |

| Lost / Retained | Toggle which list you are viewing. Badges show the counts. |
| Compared to | Choose an earlier season in retention. Defaults to the immediate previous season in that set. |
| Only campers who paid | Leaves out people whose charges came to $0 after discounts in the prior season (uses your camper plural label). |
| Display Columns | Opens Profile fields to show. Filter with Type to filter fields..., check fields, then Save Columns. |
| Send Text / Send Email | Reach the list currently on screen. You need Manage Email. Audiences carry the compare season and paying filter. |
When there is no earlier season to compare, the page explains that there is no earlier season in retention for the current season.
Intro text matches the dashboard card: everyone registered in the prior season, split by whether they registered again. When grades are left out of retention, a note can list those grades.

How this relates to the dashboard card
The dashboard Retention card uses the same season pool and grade rules. The card's Email This List drill-in is a quick composer for the retained or lost list. The full report adds Compared to, Display Columns, Send Text, and a standing page you can bookmark.
